Cinco De Mayo Mexican Restaurant feels personal, rooted, and easy to settle into. We welcome you to our three Lexington and one Georgetown location.

Welcome to Cinco De Mayo Mexican Restaurant, where the embodiment of the American Dream comes to life. In 1976, Luis Magana embarked on a journey from Jalisco, Mexico to Atlanta, Georgia, driven by a dream to create something extraordinary. Starting as a dishwasher, he persevered, evolving into a server and eventually assuming the role of a manager in a Mexican restaurant. With an unyielding determination and an unwavering belief in growth, Luis Magana moved his family to central Kentucky in 1995, seizing the opportunity to establish his own restaurant.

In the heart of Kentucky, Luis realized his dream, opening his first Mexican restaurant. His success bloomed, leading to the creation of multiple locations and inspiring his son, Juan Luis Magana, to carry on the legacy. Luis instilled the values of hard work and dedication in his son by taking him to the family restaurant on weekends, showing him the ins and outs of running a business.

In 2013, at just 24 years old, Juan Luis Magana approached his father with a vision - to open his own Mexican restaurant. With their combined passion and expertise, father and son unveiled Cinco De Mayo in Lexington, Kentucky in 2014. Following in his father's footsteps, Juan Luis Magana expanded their culinary empire, driven by a deep sense of pride in his labor. He dreams of the day when his own children will continue this legacy.

For over a decade, we have been privileged to serve our community, becoming a cherished part of countless celebrations, casual lunches, and family dinners.
